Hello
Dr. C. & Classmates,
My
name is Gracesinda Duran and this is my first blog. Honestly I was nervous about doing this but
here goes.
I
am going to tell you a little bit about myself.
Well first of all I live in the Dominican Republic and have lived here
for almost 5 years. Yes, it is very different than living in the US and it has
been very challenging for me. My husband
of 32 years and I decided to retire here after losing everything due to the
market crash. We have two beautiful children,
our daughter Stephany who is a Paralegal and lives in Tampa, Florida and our
son Luis Miguel who is married and has a beautiful wife and son. He as well lives in the Dominican
Republic. He works and is studying to be
an architect.
After
living here for 2 years bored out of my mind I decided to further my
education. I have a BS in Business
Administration (1999) from Florida Metropolitan University and a Master in
Business Management (2015) from Walden University and now going for my second
Masters in Adult Education. My dream is
to open up my own English School here in the Dominican Republic and to make a
change in a least one person’s live.
Education has always been important to me and I believe that no matter
what your age is, it is never too late to learn.
I
started this blog because it was required of us for this 1st week’s
second discussion. The object of this
blog is to post weekly about emerging technology trends we learn about and how
they can be used with our adult learners currently or in the future.
I
am nervous and stressing already about this course. I am looking forward to working and learning
for each of you.
